Happy Humpday Haiku #50
Redline
That moment before
You switch from fifth gear to sixth.
Throttle the release.
So things are coming to a close at the academy. We are finishing the final preparations for our kindergarten graduation, packing uniforms for the new students who start in March, finalizing contracts and visas for new teachers, organizing our last theatrical performance (Little Mermaid, if you were curious), etc. etc. et cetera. There's a lot of relief that comes with this end of year stuff. We helped build a successful academy. Knowing that most of the groundwork has already been established is reassuring, as is my familiarity with the curriculum and students.
That doesn't mean we're finished though. There's the streamlining, the mending, the planning, the planning, the planning, the writing, evaluating, and testing. And the testing. There's the making sure we do what we did last time better, and the nixing of the things that didn't work. There's the knowing what I know now, and knowing how to use it to make myself better. There's the redlining in fifth gear and realizing there's a sixth. There's the switch to sixth gear, and knowing you're working harder than ever, but feeling equilibrated. Here's to finding the sweet spot.
