Sometimes You Just Need to Express

Sometimes I wish my mind was unconscious. It’s obnoxious how many toxic topics still perpetuate the same views. Same damn views from the same schools. Lack of prospects means a situation where we all lose. But that’s not enough for the common man’s lot. The thick of the plot would make him feel entitled to a hundred grand. I can’t stand the incessant immorality and ignorance pervading the youth, got them thinking it’s uncouth to be the Prince, it don’t make sense. So here’s my two cents, for what it’s worth. It’s a pity there ain’t no dignity regardless of your lot, your color, or city. Folks held themselves to a higher standard. But my man heard there’s a short cut around the way. Nice group of fillies, and more than decent pay. He said it don’t take much, but you gotta be game to play, in a neighborhood of thugs, drugs, and where common sense is on delay. He looks at me funny when I tell him I’m gonna pass, gonna laugh at me now, until this memory’s in the past when I passed you up on the sidewalk, tattered clothes hung on your shoulders. Skin as thin as folders, why do we treat ourselves like this? Lift your brother up, get him out of that forsaken pit. If he should fall again, don’t pretend, his life is in your hands. Man’s best interest is being his biggest fan.
